Hey there. My name’s Vin. Yes, it’s a nickname short for my other nickname, Vinnie. “The Divine Miss V” is what someone else calls me. I’ve also been called Vincenza, which I like just as well. My background? Well, native Miami girl, Cuban/Colombian. I have degrees in Art Photography, Creative Writing, and Information Science.
I’ve been blogging steadily since 2006. Most of my blog is just random thoughts about life and whatever I happen to be interested in at the moment. My attention tends to wane a bit. The one thing I have been steadily blogging is my About a Girl series which is about motherhood, single motherhood to be specific. It’s memories as well as present day dilemmas and stories about my daughter and myself.
I use to be on livejournal and I just moved to wordpress in June 2010. Anything you see in this blog prior to that is either taken from my livejournal or my old myspace blog. The comments from myspace, unfortunately, couldn’t be transferred. Well, maybe they could, but I didn’t look to hard into the issue.
In any case I moved to wordpress as part of my fresh new start as a writer and photographer. As this blog progresses I’ll have more pages in regards to my fiction writing which is largely efforts made in NaNoWriMo and Script Frenzy. I’ve also got a years long Poe Bibliography I’ve been writing.
Currently up on my blog, is Pilgrim the Tralfamadore inspired alien. I rebuilt him after an ex-boyfriend “lost” (so he claims) the first one I built. My goal is to take pictures of Pilgrim in a bunch of locations and situations and post them here.

I like your Pilgrim photographs. It’s an interesting idea.

Thanks. It’s both my attempt to get back into photography (in baby steps) and an homage to the late great Kurt Vonnegut.

Noticed your note about being a single mom. Just wrote a bit on that today after NOT mentioning it for many years. Must be kismet.
